The Art of Tai Chi: Informational Session and Demo

About Tai Chi (Chen Style): Tai Chi starts out as a low-impact exercise suitable for Any-Age, Any-Body, and once learned can be practiced Any-Where.
We focus on the natural Body Mechanics and Breathing promoted by Taiji principles, but applicable to all movement and stillness used in daily life while both active and resting.
Exercises presented will include, but not limited to Meditation, Qigong, Silk-reeling, and Taiji forms. Everything we do can be practiced both in a chair or on your feet.
This Training allows the practitioner to improve areas of Health both mentally and physically no matter their condition. Students have shown improvements in endurance, balance, strength, reflexes, memory, also lowered stress levels, better flexibility, improved digestion. quality of sleep etc...
About the Instructor: Steve Contes, instructor and founder of the Taiji Center began his martial arts over 50 years ago. For the first 20 years, he studied a variety of martial arts, qigong, health, nutrition, fitness, philosophy, and various methods of meditation. He then decided to focus on a practical form of self-defense combining principles from all the above mentioned. He had also come to realize that in order to train in a complete system, all enemies must be understood. Steve believes the most often overlooked and greatest enemy we must face is found within. If we are to learn how to protect ourselves, then this must be the starting point. Martial art technique makes us strong on the outside, meditation protects us on the inside.
